SUMMARY:2023 Rod and Custom Show
DESCRIPTION:Our club will once again host a club display at the 2023 Rod and Custom Show on January 13th\, 14th and 15th\, 2023 at the Bend XPO Center\, 922 Mississippi Parkway\, East Moline IL. This winter indoor venue provides the MVR with one of the biggest public exposures that our club has previously participated in each year. The organizers of the show are very pleased that we will bring our display to the show in 2023 based on the quality of the cars that have been presented at past events. We are seeking two vehicles\, one early usually pre-war vehicle and one late vehicle\, for display at this year’s show. Our club would also like to see our membership come on down to the XPO Center and join in with populating our club display with members who are eager to talk to the public about our club and their interests in the antique car hobby. Talking to the public directly has been our best method of attracting new membership into the MVR. Bring a lawn chair if you like. There are plenty of reasonably priced food and beverage (adult style if preferred) available at the Bend concession stand.\nPLEASE CONSIDER BRINGING A CAR AND SPENDING SOME TIME TO PROMOTE OUR CLUB AT THE CLUB DISPLAY.\nIf anyone should have any questions or have interest in bringing a car\, please do not hesitate to contact me. \nFred Bartemeyer Jr

DESCRIPTION:On Sunday July 17th our club has arranged a drive to the Coralville Antique Car Museum of Iowa for the presentation of “The Great Race”.  This is a 90-minute program outlining the race given by the great-grandson of George Schuster\, the driver of the Thomas Flyer automobile that won the race. (See the attached flyer for more detailed information.) \nOur driving group will meet at the U-Haul Parking lot off Kimberly Road in Davenport (3616 W. Kimberly Road.) at 9:15 the morning of July 17th. Departure is at 9:30. The caravan will follow Route 6 to Iowa City. Lunch is scheduled for 11:00 at Old Chicago in Coralville. The program begins at 1:00. Mary has secured discounted pricing for MVR Members attending the event. DESCRIPTION:The annual Planes\, Trains and Automobiles event in Geneseo is once again upon us. The Johnson’s are once again hosting a cookout after the show. For those that are interested in traveling to Geneseo in a caravan\, we will be meeting at the OfficeMax in Southpark\, Moline at 8:00am. The caravan will depart for Geneseo at 8:15am. For those that do not want to attend the events Geneseo but would like to get to gather at the Johnson’s for lunch\, please plan to show up between 2:30pm and 3:00pm. Electricity\, Parking\, Picnicking\, Playground\, Restrooms\, Fresh Water\, Water View (next year)  \nInvite your families and PLEASE call us before June 1st with how many so we can have enough food planned. Please call leave message or text: Clair Pearson 309-737-0581 or E mail: nspsc103@aol.com  \nRanger to speak on all the improvements they are doing on the lake starting at 10:30  \nClub meeting at 10:45 with updates on the 2022 AACA meet we are hosting at the BEND in East Moline.  \nCountry drive is planned starting around 11:00 and will last about an hour. If you don’t have an an-tique car that day\, ask to ride along with someone.  \nWe may also have some car games in the large parking lot so give Clair your ideas.  \nThere are hiking trails available at West Lake.  \nWe will be taking input on what else you would like included in future years at this location. We have the shelter all day and can grill out later in the day along with boating/fishing activities. So be think-ing about how we can include your families for a daylong event in future years
